completely useless idea. You don't need a weed barrier or these grid systems. They actually defeat their own purpose and prevent the crushed rock from compacting like it should.

Any reason why you went with screws over clips? Also wondering if the 45 angles should have biscuits along with pvc glue? What spacing did you use between each board and along the long side? Thanks man!

Curious why you use the screws over hidden clips? Your spacing looks large also, what that a customer request? 1/4 inch? Nice job.

Aunt and uncle installed one of these. Worst mistake ever. These things, especially on a sloped driveway, are absolutely horrible. The stuff was peeling up everywhere, solved not a single problem with the stuff rolling down the hill and piling up, please oh please just pave it!

You don't sand until your third coat of normal plaster anyway. I don't understand why people try to teach how to do something when they don't even have handyman skills. 🙄

You should definitely wear a dust mask. The dust from the rock will indeed kill you if you do this long term. I think it's called black lung. It's the silica in the dust that cuts your lungs up really bad.

Always wondered why so much blocking is added to deck frames. They are an essential part of a wall frame, but a wall has very different applied forces to a deck. I appreciate that they are intended to prevent joists twisting, but when the bottom of each joist is connected to the bearer and the top is firmly held in place by the deck boards (unlike a wall), the chance of the joists twisting seems minimal. One or two blocks at midway points, especially on larger spans makes sense, but I see blocking every 16" on some frames. What are the requirements in US and Canada? Having looked through our codes, I can't find any requirements for deck frame blocking in AUS and NZ. Any structural engineers care to comment? cheers

That looks far more expensive and more labor intensive than asphalt. Like why put that much work into gravel. Just do asphalt at that point, you’re not saving money by doing this.

One year later , it's covered in weeds. Weed barrier material never ever works. The weeds will grow right in the rocks and you still got to spray with a pre emergent & killer 3-4 times a year to stay on top of it 😅
